Stabilizer Types

Stabilizer Types : Rotating Blade: Stabilizer with the largest outside diameter sections composed of narrow blades extending from the stabilizer body, (i.e., welded blade, replaceable blade, integral blade, etc). Non-rotating Blade: Stabilizer used to center drill stem in the wellbore without reaming the hole. Stabilizer ribs, usually of rubber, will not wear out rapidly since rotation occurs between the sleeve and a mandrel. Full-body, Spiral-grooved: Full-gauge long stbailizer with sets of spiral grooves cut along the full body length. Round-fluted: Round integral blade stabilizer milled and machined from a solid forging to produce flutes and grooves on the outer diameter. (Bul D20)
