Chapter I - Overview: (1) General: (A) This publication CBRN CM focuses on the US military response to reduce the effects of a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) incident, regardless of who is designated the Unite States Government (USG) lead. This includes the response to both deliberate and inadvertent releases of CBRN threats and hazards. As preparation is a requirement for effective response, emergency preparedness (EP) activities are discussed as well. A US military response is not automatically triggered by a CBRN incident
