The statohm (symbolized stat) is the unit of resistance in the cgs (centimeter/gram/second) electrostatic system of units. It is equivalent to approximately 8.9876 x 10 11 ohms. In fact, an object with a resistance of 1 stat would make an excellent insulator or dielectric.
