Stipulated Settlement
Stipulated Settlement : An agreement between the insurance carrier and the injured worker who has raised a dispute concerning claims processing or impairment evaluation. This agreement must be approved by all parties and signed by a Workers' Compensation Board administrative law judge. These settlements are used to resolve differences between carriers and workers in order to avoid formal hearing situations
