A stock tank barrel is the same as the petroleum barrel [2], that is, 42 U.S. gallons or about 158.987 liters, but the oil is required to be at a temperature of 60 °F (15.556 °C). The corresponding metric unit is the standard cubic meter (scm) with the oil at 15 °C. One stock tank barrel is about 0.15899 standard cubic meter
