Stream, Water Course

Stream, Water Course : A body of water that flows in a natural, artificially widened, or regulated channel on account of a downward gradient in one direction. Streams range from small brooks to major rivers. Although it is difficult to categorize lakes and reservoirs that are traversed by streams, it is at least no longer correct to speak of a stream when the average flow velocity is only a few centimeters per second. Streams are always subject to the process of erosion and deposition and, in the case of natural streams, are in a condition of dynamic equilibrium over time. Body of water flowing continuously or periodically in a channel
