Structural Fire Protections 5 : Protection systems for constructions. In order to envisage the performances of the structural components exposed to fires, three basic aspects are considered: fire, the heat transfer, structures and the effect of the high temperatures on the performances of the structures. Usually the protection consists in the isolation of the structure, in order to resist more time the exposure to the high temperatures of the fire. Projection of perlite, isolation blocks, intumescent painting are different type of structural protection as well as greater diameters in wood, and the use of non combustible material (like concrete)
