Kindling 2
Kindling 2 :
Material which will respond to burning tinder, such as paper, but which will not be set on fire by a lighted match. Dry wood of not too substantial size serves as kindling and, in the case of dry wood, a specific surface of not less than 20 square mms per gram is necessary. Kindling develops sufficient heat to ignite larger pieces of wood or other solid fuel. See also: Tinder
