Centre Burn


Centre Burn : An ignition technique whereby a fire is ignited in the approximate middle of an area of unburned fuel. A ring burn is then ignited around the perimeter of the area of unburned fuel. The intention of a centre burn is to create a strong convection plume that draws the subsequent ring burn inwards and, therefore, normally away from any existing control lines
