The three general classes of products are (1) primary chemicals, such as acids, alkalis, salts, and organic chemi cals; (2) chemicals to be used in making other products, such as synthetic fibers,plastics, dry colors, and pigments; (3) finished chemical products for ultimate consumption, such as drugs, cosmetics, soaps and detergents, or materials and supplies for other industries, such as paints, fertilizers, pesticides, and explosives
