Chemical Senses

Chemical Senses : (Physiol) The senses of taste and smell, so-called because the stimulus for each is chemical in nature, liquid for taste and gaseous for smell. The two senses interact strongly, to the extent that a taste sensation may be entirely due to smell. The sense of smell is generally much more keen and discriminatory than taste.
