Chevron Marking
Chevron Marking : (1) A V-shaped marking applied to areas of pavement not for general use by vehicles. (2) A diagonal marking of slopes in one direction only relative to traffic. These markings are used to give definition to splayed approaches to islands or obstructions and to sealed shoulders. They are used extensively for painted traffic islands and medians. (3) Diagonal striping on hazards and barriers to make them more conspicuous on roadways at traffic islands
