Activity Sampling

Activity Sampling :

(Ind Eng; Safety) Observations taken of the activity of an individual in a work situation to determine what he does during a given period of time. Note: In occupational safety, for example, a measurement technique for evaluating potential accident-producing behavior. It involves the cbservation of worker behavior at random intervals and the instan- taneous classification of these behaviors as safe or unsafe. Calculations are then made to determine either (a) the percentage of time the workers are involved in unsafe acts or (b) the percentage of workers involved in unsafe acts during the observation period
