Cinder Cone 3 : A steep-sided volcano formed by the explosive eruption of cinders that form around a vent. (Teacher's Packet). A small conical-shaped volcano formed by the accumulation of ejected cinders and other volcanic debris that falls back to Earth close to the vent area. (Gardner, et.al., 1995)
