The Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Program is a priority for the Federal government, as well as the private sector and state, local, and tribal governments to determine critical systems, identify vulnerabilities, and focus survivability enhancements on critical areas of both the private (85%) and public (15%) critical services sectors so that they can be protected from all hazards, both natural and man-made disasters and terrorism, whether a cyber-related threat or large-scale physical attack
