Circulate 4 : To cycle fluid through pipe and wellbore while drilling operations are temporarily suspended. This is done to condition the drilling fluid and the well bore before hoisting the drill pipe and to obtain cuttings from the bottom of the well before drilling proceeds. Circulation of the drilling fluid while drilling is suspended is usually necessary to prevent drill pipe from becoming stuck. (Bul 10C)
