Clearance of Channels and Valleys : The removal of vegetation, rocks and any other material that is or will in future restrict or prevent the flow of water through a channel or valley. Channels and valleys may be cleared for a number of reasons, but for restoration after a wildfire the main purpose is to prevent or reduce erosion
