Crest of Dam 1 :
Disaster Management. Frequently used to denote Top of Dam. However, the term 'crest' is usually applied to the level at which water may overflow the spillway section of the dam. Term top of Dam is preferred to denote uppermost surface of the dam proper, excluding parapets, handrails, etc. See: Spillway Crest
