Critical Infrastructure 12 : Critical infrastructure includes any system or asset that, if disabled or disrupted in any significant way, would result in catastrophic loss of life or catastrophic economic loss. Some examples of critical infrastructure include: (1) Public water systems serving large population centers. (2) Primary data storage and processing facilities, stock exchanges or major banking centers. (3) Chemical facilities located in close proximity to large population centers. (4) Major power generation facilities exceeding 2,000 MW and supporting the regional electric grid. (5) Hydroelectric facilities and dams producing power in excess of 2,000 MW that could cause catastrophic loss of life if breached. (6) Nuclear power plants. (7) Major underground gas, water, phone and electrical supplies affecting a large population
