Critical Item 2 : A single failure point and/or a redundant element in a life- or mission-essential application where: (a) Redundant elements cannot be checked out during the normal ground turnaround sequence, (b) Loss of a redundant element is not readily detectable in flight and (c) All redundant elements can be lost by a single credible cause or event such as contamination or explosion
