Criticality 11
Criticality 11 : The categorization of a hardware item by the worst case potential direct effect of failure of that item. In assigning hardware criticality, the availability of redundancy modes of operation is considered. Assignment of functional criticality, however, assumes the loss of all redundant hardware elements (NSTS 22254). Category (C): 1, Criticality Categories Definition (CCD): Loss of life or vehicle; C: 1R, CCD: Redundant hardware element failure which could cause loss of life or vehicle; C: 1S, CCD: Potential loss of life or vehicle due to failure of a safety or hazard monitoring system to detect, combat, or operate when required; C: 2, CCD: Loss of mission; for Ground Support Equipment (GSE), loss of vehicle system; C: 2R, CCD: Redundant hardware elements, the failure of which could cause loss of mission; C: 3, CCD: All others
