Crowdmapping (Also Called Volunteered Geographic Information) : A process where public volunteers create, assemble, and distribute geographic knowledge. Contributors to VGI projects may be volunteers who submit or modify data hosted by open-source mapping platforms, such as OpenStreetMap.183 Related terms include, but are not limited to, neogeography, counter-mapping, participatory mapping, participatory geoweb, and public participation geographic information systems (PPGIS).
