Culture of Preparedness, Strategic Plan Objective 1.1 :
Build a culture of preparedness across the Nation for all hazards: "FEMA will strengthen national preparedness by engaging and supporting other federal agencies, states, territories, tribal nations, local governments, and private sector and nongovernmental organizations in building national capabilities to address all-hazard events. Through grants that provide financial assistance, the provision of technical expertise, or through enhanced partnerships and cooperative agreements with the public and private sector, FEMA will work closely with its partners to build a nationwide culture of preparedness that builds and sustains national capabilities. This effort will include public education and outreach that strives to instill broad awareness of the importance of personal and community responsibility for the Nation's overall preparedness".
