Data Integrity 1 : (ICT) (HE, SE) The assurance that data has not been lost or corrupted in the course of being stored or communicated. Aside from hackers or deliberate destruction, the main threats to data integrity include network transmission errors such as dropped packets, storage hardware errors such as bad disk sectors, and application errors such as database replication errors. Methods of ensuring data integrity include redundancy and parity checking for data storage and transmission, and twophase commit and template filtering for data entry and database management
