Advanced Practice Center (APC) : An Advanced Practice Center is a local health department that is developing cutting-edge tools and resources that will help it and other local health departments nationwide prepare for, respond to, and recover from major emergencies. The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), funded five Advanced Practice Centers in November 2003 and an additional three Centers in September 2004
