DSCA 3 : Defense Support of Civil Authorities. The Department of Defense (DOD) provides DSCA in response to requests, or when appropriate under the circumstances and the law, for assistance during domestic incidents to include terrorist attacks, major disasters, and other emergencies. DSCA refers to DOD support provided by federal military forces, DOD civilians and contract personnel, and DOD agencies and components, to include National Guard components when federalized.
