Adverse Effect 6 : Medicine. This is abnormal, undesirable or harmful effect to an organism, indicated by some result such as mortality, altered food consumption, altered body and organ weights,altered enzyme levels or visible (pathological) change. An effect may be classed as adverse effect if it causes functional or anatomical damage, causes irreversible changes or increases the susceptibility of the organism to other chemical or biological stress. A non-adverse effect will usually be reversed when exposure to the chemical ceases
