Effective Height of Jets

Effective Height of Jets : The height to which a jet of water will rise depends on several factors, i. e. pressure, velocity, size of nozzle, wind, etc. The effective height is taken to be about two-thirds of the theoretical height. A formula to calculate effective heights is He = 2/3 (H - 0. 113 x H2/d) where He = effective height of jet (m), H = metres head, d = diameter (mm) and H = P x 10. 19, where P = pressure (bars) at nozzle
