Effective Temperature Index 1
Effective Temperature Index 1 : (Physic]. An empirically determined index of the degree of warmth or cold felt by the body on exposure to different combinations of temperature, humidity, and air movement. Note: The numerical value is equal to the temperature of still, saturated air which would induce the identical sensation. Determination of the effective temperature index requires simultaneous measurement of wet- and dry-bulb temperatures. See: Wind Chill Index
