Aerial Reconnaissance 6 : Disaster Management. Use of aircraft for conducting preliminary surveys of a wildfire to gather information on: (1) Fire behaviour. (2) Topography and fuel types. (3) Potential hazards and high risk areas. (4) Potential windows of opportunity. (5) Safety of ground personnel. The information gathered from aerial reconnaissance will be communicated to the Incident Commander to assist in the decision-making process
