Emergency Manager 04 : "The local emergency manager has the day-to-day responsibility of overseeing emergency management programs and activities. He or she works with chief elected and appointed officials to ensure that there are unified objectives with regard to the community's emergency response plans and activities. This role entails coordinating all aspects of a jurisdiction's mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery capabilities.38 The emergency manager coordinates all components of the emergency management program for the community, to include assessing the availability and readiness of local resources most likely required during an incident and identifying any shortfalls.
