Emergency Response Team (ERT) 2 : "A team composed of Federal program and support personnel, which the FCO activates and deploys into an area affected by a major disaster or emergency. This team assists the FCO in carrying out his/her responsibilities under the Stafford Act, the declaration, applicable laws, regulation, and the FEMA/State agreement. Any Federal agency can be directed to detail personnel within the Federal agency's administrative jurisdiction to temporary duty with the FCO. The ERT provides a forum for coordinating the overall Federal response, reporting on the conduct of specific operations, exchanging information, and resolving issues related to ESFs and other response requirements".
