Enhanced National Warning System (E-NAWAS) 1 : (1) Backward compatible with the existing NAWAS (2) Provide two simultaneous circuits (2a) One for full-time monitoring (2b) One for ad-hoc point-to-point and conference calls (3) Use IP packets for voice, data, and video collaboration (4) Add capability to rapidly geo-target conference calls & collaboration (5) Use dual-paths (landline and satellite) for greater reliability/resilience (6) Add independent power and radio frequency protection (7) Provide a mobile E-NAWAS capability (8) Allow for EAS activation option.
