E-Purse (Electronic Purse) : (ICT) (ECOM) A storage location of electronic monetary units. Also an application that allows value (such as e-cash) to be loaded into a smart card or handheld device that then can be used to make purchases. A device or card can hold multiple e-purse applications designed for specific uses (for example, an e-purse on a student card or device could be restricted to purchases at a bookstore)
