Equilibrium, Radioactive 2 : The state of a radioactive decay chain (or part thereof) where the activity of each radionuclide in the chain (or part of the chain) is the same. This state is achieved when the parent nuclide has a much longer half-life than any of the progeny, and after a time equal to several times the half-life of the longest lived of the progeny. Hence, the term 'secular equilibrium' is also used (with secular in this context meaning 'eventual')
