Explosion Vent 3
Explosion Vent 3 : An opening in a vessel or building, usually covered by a fragile diaphragm, or a hinged or spring-loaded flap, which in the event of an explosion in the vessel or building allows gaseous products to escape. Because of this escape the pressure developed is lower than it might otherwise have been and the risk of pressure damage to the vessel or building is reduced. This venting process is also known as `explosion relief'
