Exposure Hazard 1 : (Fire Pr) The probability or risk that a building will be exposed to the danger of ignition from a fire in a neighboring or adjoining property. Also called: external Hazard. Note: In general, property within 40 feet of a fire hazard involves an exposure hazard. For large fires the distance is considerably greater, esp if firebrands are carried aloft and are transported by the wind
