External Event


External Event : Events unconnected with the operation of a facility or activity that could have an effect on the safety of the facility or activity. Typical examples for nuclear facilities include earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis, aircraft crashes, etc. External Exposure: See: Exposure (1). External Zone: The area immediately surrounding a proposed site area in which population distribution and density, and land and water uses, are considered with respect to their effects on the possible implementation of emergency measures. Used in the context of siting of facilities. This is the area that would be the emergency zones if the facility were in place
