Fairway 1
Fairway 1 : (n). Geology. The trend along which a particular geological feature is likely, such as a sand fairway or a hydrocarbon fairway. Prediction of conceptual fairways helps explorationists develop prospects. Along a sand fairway, for example, sand was transported and, presumably, was deposited, allowing an interpretation of the presence of reservoir rock in the fairway. See: Play, Prospect, Reservoir
