Fault Rake


Fault Rake : A parameter describing the slip direction on a fault, measured as an angle in the fault plane between the fault strike and the slip vector. Slip in the direction of the maximum slope (i.e., the dip) of the fault plane is a rake of 90?, positive for reverse faults, negative for normal faults. See Fig. 3.30??? in Chapter 3 of this Manual; also Aki and Richards (2002 or 2009, Fig. 4.13, p. 101), and Figure 13 in Ben-Zion (2003)
