FEMA Emergency Management Higher Education Program Goals : (1) Provide federal-level leadership for progressive growth of the EM Hi-Ed community. (2) Support FEMA Vision, Mission, New FEMA Transformation, and Policy Goals. (3) Development of future cadre of emergency management and related professionals grounded in emergency management, social and natural science knowledge, administrative and managerial skills and technical and personal competencies. (4) Contribute to growth/refinement of the academic discipline of emergency management (5) Service the needs of the emergency management higher education community. (6) Support the development and refinement of a Theory of Emergency Management. (7) Advance the state of knowledge of emergency management and the full range of hazards which confront communities and the nation, whether natural, technological, or intentional (8) Grow and expand knowledge of the emergency management body of knowledge, with specific emphasis on the basic principles and concepts of emergency management. (9) Support translation of emergency management doctrine into educational materials. (10) Actively engage with the emergency management academic and practitioner communities to better define and build the curriculums at the Associate, Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral levels which will lay the foundation for successful entry into the emergency management community as well as the professional development of practitioners
