FEMA National Preparedness Directorate (NPD) 2 : "The Deputy Administrator for National Preparedness will head a new directorate within FEMA, consolidating FEMA strategic preparedness assets. It will include both existing FEMA programs and certain legacy Preparedness Directorate programs. It will incorporate functions related to preparedness doctrine, policy and contingency planning. It will further contain the Department's exercise coordination and evaluation program, emergency management training, along with the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program and the Radiological Emergency Preparedness program. The Deputy Administrator for National Preparedness will oversee two major functional responsibilities: (1) Readiness, Prevention and Planning; and (2) the National Integration Center".
