Fluid 2

Fluid 2 : A form of matter which cannot permanently resist a shearing force, which causes flow. Elastic: A gas, e.g., a condition of matter in which the molecules flow apparently without resistance. Inelastic: A liquid, e.g., a condition of matter in which the molecules move freely but are restricted by gravitation. Newtonian: An increase in pressure or rate of shear increases the velocity gradient in the same proportion, non-Newtonian Heterogeneous, e.g., sols or gels. (Bul 10C)
