Fog Oil Smoke : Chemistry and Chemical Disasters. Smoke generated by injecting mineral oil into a heated manifold. The oil vaporizes upon heating and condenses when exposed to the atmosphere, producing respirable particles. Graphite can be added to fog oil to provide screening in the infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum.
