Footer 1 : (ICT) A word-processing term. The 'footer' is the text located in the bottom area of a page. The footer is usually repeated on every page, so it is a good place to put page numbers and file name into. For example a 'key logger' is a type of spyware that monitors and stores a record of every keystroke made on the computer. This data may then be sent to a remote server without your knowledge. Used to harvest passwords
