Foot-Pounds of Torque : A measurement of the physiological stress exerted upon any joint during the performance of a task. The product of the force exerted and the distance from the point of application to the point of stress. Physiologically, torque that does not produce motion nonetheless causes work stress, the severity of which depends on the duration and magnitude of the torque.
