Frequency Response

Frequency Response : Fourier transform of the output signal of a linear system divided by the Fourier transform of the input signal. The frequency response of a linear system equals the Fourier transform of its impulse response. For a typical inertial seismometer (e.g., an accelerometer or rotational-motion sensor), the frequency response is the complex transfer function relating the input ground motion (translational acceleration or rotational velocity) to the output signal (usually voltage). This transfer function is typically measured in terms of amplitude and phase spectra. For analog-output sensors, the measured frequency response is generally modeled in the Laplace domain with a best-fit pole-zero model (Nigbor et al., 2009)
