(ICT) Still as popular as ever in CALL. Not to be confused with Cloze, which involves an automatic word deletion procedure. Gap-fillers are more flexible than Cloze programs. Gap-filling programs often consist of two parts: a teacher's program which allows the teacher to input a text and specify words, parts of words, or phrases that are to disappear, and a student's program which enables the learner to interact with the computer by filling in the gaps.
