Gas Group for Explosion Protection

Gas Group for Explosion Protection : for some specific types of protection, equipment of Group II intended for use in explosive gas atmospheres are classified according to the nature of the potentially explosive atmosphere for which it is intended. This equipment is classified according to the explosion groups (subdivisions) IIA, IIB and IIC. Note 1:This classification is based on the maximum experimental safe gap for flame-proof enclosures or the minimum ignition current for intrinsically safe electrical equipment (See: Annex A of EN 50014). Note 2: quipment marked IIB is suitable for applications requiring IIA equipment. Similarly, equipment marked IIC is suitable for applications requiring IIA or IIB equipment
