Geophone 3
Geophone 3 : A term commonly used for a relatively inexpensive, robust, light weight and small size seismometer, usually a mass-spring system with electrodynamic transducer, that responds to high frequency (usually > 1 Hz) ground motions (See Fig. 5.3 and section 5.3.8 in Chapter 5 of this Manual). Even smaller and cheaper versions with natural frequencies typically between about 5 and 25 Hz are commonly used in exploration geophysics
